Our one-year, part-time course programmes, offered in partnership with Cambridge Regional College, allow you to explore your chosen art form in depth.

What a course looks like

Every programme…

  • begins in September

  • helps to build confidence in your ability to learn; gain artistic and transferable skills; and develop your identity and confidence as an artist or musician

  • is made up of 3 courses taught over three terms

  • has weekly three-hour in-person sessions

  • has an introductory period to find out if the programme is right for you

Course content
This course will help you develop your skills and confidence playing an instrument or singing individually and as part of a group. You will gain an understanding of composition to create original music and establish teamwork and technical skills to collaborate, rehearse, plan and perform successfully with other musicians. Listen, experiment and compose; rehearse, play and review, as a group in the classroom, supported by individual practice at home. You will showcase your work to an invited audience throughout the year and lay down tracks in a studio.

What to bring
Bring your instrument and a basic level of playing or singing.

We provide
If needed: keyboard, percussion, guitars (electric & acoustic), drum kit, mics.

Course content
Explore approaches and techniques of contemporary visual arts practice across a range of media including drawing, mixed media, life drawing, clay sculpture and painting. You will produce a portfolio of work to be proud of and be guided through the elements needed to build on your talents and achieve real progress with your art.

Within a relaxed and inclusive setting, you will be supported in exploring social, cultural and artistic ideas to expand your practice, taking inspiration from artists and art theory. Working within a group and independently towards your own goals and creative experimentation.

What to bring
Art can be messy, so bring along clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We’ll provide everything else, including sketchbooks and all art materials.
