Cambridge Community Arts’ Open Studios Summer Exhibition

This year we held a Summer Exhibition as part of Cambridge Open Studios July Festival.

After lots of planning, submissions and 2 days of installation and curation, from a dedicated team of volunteers, on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July we opened the doors of the Exhibition Room at the Cambridge Guildhall.

It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the creativity and talent of our community. We showcased 56 artworks from 50 artists from our community. Mediums included Painting, Photography, Music, Ceramics, Sculpture, Mixed Media & Textiles.

Volunteer stewards helped to make sure everything ran smoothly and over the weekend we had over 420 visitors over the weekend, including the Mayor of Cambridge! It was a joy to have so many works in one room, each full of stories and variety that sparked some special conversations amongst visitors.

It was also a wonderful opportunity for CCA to honour the work of prolific artist and community member, Bob Jones, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

With thanks to Allia Future Business Centre for their sponsorship of the exhibition and the donations from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Artiteq and Tzu Chi Uk – Cambridge.
