Embracing Growth at Cambridge Community Arts

The past couple of years have brought much growth and change to CCA. Our team has grown, and we’ve had the joy of seeing activities reintroduced into Fenland through our Creative Fenland project, supported by the Arts Council England. We collected thoughts from over 100 people in our stakeholder survey, celebrated the success of our Next Steps project and continued providing courses to our community with our fantastic creative practitioners.

Looking forward to the next year, we have many exciting projects in development including:

  • Our community membership scheme to connect and share creative opportunities with our community of learners.

  • A Creative Practitioner Training Programme to train creative practitioners to deliver community arts activities with our best practice and 9 years of experience. Funded by the Arts Council England.

  • A smaller programme of Year-long Courses.

  • A programme of Short Courses for the 2023-2024 academic year.

  • Creative Futures, a development of our Next Steps programme with a deeper focus on the creative industries.

With new projects and growth, often comes change. Here at CCA, we want to embrace this change to develop new opportunities and to improve our offering to our community.

We value the meaningful and positive impact of year-long courses. Over the past few years, we have faced challenges with funding for these. So, we have made the difficult, but necessary, decision to run a limited number of these this academic year (2023-2024) alongside a programme of Short Courses. This will allow us to explore options for the future, with the intention of reintroducing more year-long courses in the future.

We look forward to continuing to grow and empowering our community creatively.
